![]() NFS games are much more enjoyable and have decent wheel support, while Horizon doesn't. I paid 450€ for my setup (and the Thrustmaster TX is the official Xbox wheel!) and bought the Legendary Edition of Horizon 4 at launch, but Playground, fix your shit. It shouldn't punish you as if you were driving a 1500hp beast in Assetto Corsa, but without any reason at all, because that's how it is, cars don't follow any sort of logic in Horizon 4. Now, I'm not asking for better ffb (which isn't great either), just make the damn game enjoyable with a wheel. Doesn't matter that you're driving a very high end car to begin with you won't be able to drive it without spinning, but then the game doesn't care about the crazy wings on your Lambo, a car from 1950 will corner all the same. There's zero aerodynamics/downforce as well, which is a simulation I expect if you're trying to be hardcore. Put on all the assists? Horizon doesn't care if you're playing with a wheel. Get anything modern, like a current 911, those cars have such advanced electronics that they don't slide. If I can tame a McLaren F1 on a straight playing Assetto, surely I should be able to do so with an AWD car in Horizon?. Now this should never happen driving on tarmac with such cars, which aren't that powerful to begin with. You can go around with a Porsche 959 or a Nissan R-34, both widely know for their All-wheel drive systems, ABS and traction control, and it doesn't matter, you will lose them even driving very carefully as soon as you hit reasonably high revs and you get some torque. There's almost no mechanical grip, the track is a slippery mess. ![]() ![]() The game somewhat attempts to be a sim (or so I think, due to how cars behave) all of sudden but fails spectacularly at it. For some alien reason which eludes me, the driving physics go crazy the moment you put a wheel. I had heard people saying "don't bother with a wheel, Horizon is better with a pad" I couldn't believe them, how could that be true?. So logically I gravitated towards the perfect modern arcade experience, Horizon 4. I've been playing racing games all my life, from Outrun to Grand Prix Legends and I know perfectly fine all the theory about all types of engine transmission & placement, weight transfer and all. Of course I can't drive very powerful cars to the limit in Assetto Corsa, the game has taught me how hard it actually is and I'm slowly learning and adapting from slower cars to faster ones, right now I can drive the Alpine A110 well without helps and also do well with GT3 cars, which have ABS & TCS. It was a transformative experience with all of those games. From sims like Assetto Corsa to arcade games like Scud Race and Initial D, to rally with Dirt Rally 2 and WRC9. I spent 450€ on the wheel+shifter and started playing all types of games. So recently during Amazon's Prime Days I got myself a nice wheel+shifter with a Thrustmaster TX Leather+H-Shifter after selling tons of old stuff like vintage and collectable games, the most valuable was my Panzer Dragoon Saga at 400€.
